This seems scarcely believable and we are having difficulty processing it, but it would appear that more than one-third of Scots (i.e. those who 'tweet', follow us and aren't up to some kind of sick mischief) would be quite happy to see Nicola Sturgeon returning to public life as First Minister and/or SNP leader.
We don't know if this 'news' will be as shocking to Humza Yousaf as it is to us but perhaps he wouldn't feel comfortable sharing his genuine reaction in any case.
The reason we asked the question because there are murmurings, of uncertain origin, that such a comeback is indeed being mooted. There is no way of telling whether or not this is some kind of kite-flying exercise but it is sure to be dismissed out of hand by those for whom Humza Yousaf is The Way Forward. It will be also be embraced by those who maintain that the arrest of Sturgeon was a political witch-hunt organised by seniormost Tories who, quite clearly, have nothing better to do with their time.
If the truth lies somewhere in-between i.e. that the 'bonnie wee fechter' Nicola has confided to friends, perhaps over a small Babycham, that 'she'll be back' and they have shared the Good News with beleaguered Alphabetties and Those Who Are About To Lose Their Seats, it would make sense for all involved to voice some form of defiance against what appears to be heading down the tracks.
If you have any theories on where this astonishing rumour originated, or any explanation as to why anyone in the right mind would want to see She Who Works From Home back on the telly every five minutes, please let us know.
If Operation Branchform exonerates Nicola Sturgeon, would you welcome her return as SNP leader/First Minister?
